Wausau, WI—Nationally-recognized RCA Recording artist Sara Evans
is scheduled to perform live at The Amphitheater in Marathon
Park on Saturday evening, June 3, in Wausau. All 6,300 reserved
seats and 1,000 tickets for lawn space will be sold nationwide
in advance through the Performing Arts Foundation in Wausau
beginning April 21, and area promoters don’t expect those
tickets to last long.
Kinzie Benefit Concerts, LLC, is presenting the concert in
cooperation with the area’s most popular country music radio
stations, WDEZ 101.9 FM and other prominent area sponsors.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to area non-profit and
charitable organizations.
“Sara Evans consistently ranks as the most popular female
country artist in Central Wisconsin, and she puts on a fabulous
show,” says WDEZ Program Director Bob Jung. “We are so excited
that she’s coming to Wausau and that Kinzie Benefit Concerts has
stepped forward to make this happen. What a way to start the
summer!”
Ticket prices for the Sara
Evans concert in Wausau are $35, $30 and $25. A Service/Handling
and Facility Fee may apply. Tickets can
be purchased after 10 a.m.
on April 21 at the Performing Arts Foundation, 401N 4th
Street, Wausau, charged to a credit card by calling (715)
842-0988 or purchased online at
www.onartsblock.org. Additional information about the event
and a link to the online ticket center is available at
www.kinziebenefitconcerts.com.
Sara Evans attracted a huge crowd at the Wisconsin Valley Fair
in Wausau in 2004, and has continued to gain popularity across
the U.S. She was hailed as a country traditionalist when she
made her recording debut in 1997, but she explores pop and rock
influences in her most recent albums. She’s been nominated
frequently for Female Vocalist of the Year and her Born to
Fly and Restless albums were nominated for Album of
the Year by the Country Music Association and the Academy of
Country Music respectively.
Sara Evans’ newest album, Real Fine Place, pursues
small-town themes, dark story songs, 21st century
womanhood, sexualized love songs and affirmations of bedrock
rural families. The album’s title track skyrocketed to the tops
of the country single charts.
“This album really takes me back to my roots,” says Evans. “When
I listen to it, it makes me happier than anything I’ve done in a
long time.”
Kinzie Benefit
Concerts, LLC is managed by Kirk Howard, president and owner of
Kinziegreen Marketing Group, a national marketing firm
headquartered in Wausau and celebrating its 40th year
in business. “We wanted to kick off our 40th year by
launching a first class summer concert series in Marathon Park
that could help us generate funding for local non-profit
organizations. We’re thrilled that our first event will be a
Sara Evans concert.”
